      ThebamboohouseexhibitedintheMadridCasePavilionhaswindowblindsmadeofbamboowhichcancoolthehouseinsummerandwarmthehouseinwinterandhavenoeffectontheventilationandlighting.


    Meanwhile,temperatureiscontrolledbyasolarandwind-poweredabsorbentrefrigeratingwindcowlsystemintheLondonZero-CarbonPavilionandthetablewareisedible.


    Moreover,theHushangEco-homedepictsthelifestyleofthepeopleinShanghaiinthenext20yearsthroughtraditionalShanghaiarchitectureincluding“tigerwindows,”Shikumen,andfloralwindows.ShanghaiExpoorganizerssaidtheyhopethe“Low-CarbonExpoTour”canexemplifytheconceptofa“Low-CarbonExpo”andacceleratesustainableurbandevelopment.


    TheUrbanBestPracticesAreaoftheShanghaiWorldExpodisplaystheworld’smostsymbolicandmostnoteworthysuccessfulpracticecasesforthedevelopmentandlivesinfuturecities.TheLondonZero-CarbonPavilionmakeseffortstoachievezeroemissionsthroughthepavilion‘sdesignandtheapplicationofvariouslow-carbontechnologies.

    TheShanghaiWorldExpohasalsoguidedthepublictopracticeandimplementthelow-carbonlifestylethroughactivitiessuchastherecyclingofdiscardedbeveragepackagingandtreeplanting.
